The Media Resource Centre is delighted to announce that we are now calling for applications for the following initiatives:
First Shot
Applications for First Shot Shorts are officially open.
First Shot is an new and on-going production initiative that aims to assist MRC members develop and produce a short film, in any genre, up to 5 minutes.It is open to applicants who have not previously received screen production funding from any state or federal agency.
The MRC will commission up to four (4) projects to support in any calendar year.
Each successful project will receive two days free equipment and facilities hire from the MRC up to the value of $2,500.
The MRC will also attach an MPG Production Mentor to assist each supported production.
60 Second Stories
This new initiative aims to assist South Australian filmmakers to develop and produce an engaging and entertaining 1 minute film, in any genre or format, for online festival entry.
Each selected project will receive two days free equipment and facilities hire from the Media Resource Centre up to the value of $2500.
Frame by Frame
This initiative aims to assist emerging filmmakers to develop and produce engaging, entertaining short animations of up to 7 minutes in length in any genre.
Of the projects supported with development, up to three will then be green-lit for production with $3,000 cash and $2,000 in-kind production investment from the MRC.
Next Step
This exciting new program aims to assist ‘establishing’ MRC members develop and produce an engaging, entertaining short film – of up to 15 minutes in length in any genre – for international festival entry.
As the name suggests, Next Step acts as a ‘stepping stone’ for a filmmaking team, providing them with $25,000 to produce a quality, short film – from pitch to screen – within a fully mentored production environment.
With support from the SAFC, the MRC will one again fund one film for production investment of $15,000 cash, as well as $1,000 script development and $2,500 in-kind equipment and facilities support from the MRC.
The successful filmmakers will also receive $5,000 in-kind equipment hire and $5,000 post facilities from Picture Hire Australia and The Cutting Room, our generous industry sponsors.
Please note that this is NOT an entry-level initiative.
For your team to be eligible, both the Producer and Director must be ‘establishing’ filmmakers who have made one or more post-tertiary films with cash and/or in-kind production support from the MRC.
