KIDS FILMMAKING BOOTCAMP || JANUARY 2016 SCHOOL HOLIDAYS
School holiday filmmaking bootcamps are a fun and social school holiday activity where participants make a short film to enter into the local and national film festivals including the Adelaide Kids Film Festival. Instructed by professional filmmakers.
All film production equipment and professional facilitators are supplied by the Media Resource Centre (MRC) and the final films can be privately screened for family at the week’s end.
LEAN FILMMAKING WORKSHOP PART ONE 7 FEB
When you’re a filmmaker, you are also in business. In this workshop you will learn how to think entrepreneurially about your filmmaking. You will be taken through the basics of entrepreneurialism, including how to undertake a classic audit – what are my assets, how do I exploit them?

SCRIPTWRITING WITH ALLEN PALMER 20-21 FEB
“Cracking Story: Discovering the Emotional Key to the Heart of Screenwriting.”
A big hit of the 2015 New Screen Makers Conference and current NYU Screenwriting Lecturer, Allen Palmer will present this inspiring 2-day course. Allen can transform your understanding of film and TV storytelling by taking you beyond plot to focus on what really matters: the emotional journey of your characters – and the audience.
LOGLINE INTIMATE WORKSHOP 22 FEB
Log line workshop
Bring your latest log line and workshop it with the wonderful Allen Palmer in an intimate group setting.
SCENE AND WRITING FEEDBACK 22 FEB
Have you wrote a scene that you think need s bit of workshopping? Read one of your scenes and get feedback from Allen in a group setting.
This 1.5x day workshop will walk you through the critical thinking and skills you need as you build your track record as a producer. How to choose a project including its festival and marketing potential, the basics of production management including team dynamics and using an A-Z budget and other industry templates such as call sheets.
Whilst this workshop is aimed at those mainly working in shorts including webisodes, Kirsty will also cover how she took her shorts production experience into features and what kind of step-up knowledge was required. Two case studies will also form part of the workshop.

DIGITAL STORY TELLING

CUTTING TO THE BEAT // TEENS WORKSHOP
We all have stories about the events, people and places in our lives. Digital stories are short, personal multimedia tales told from the heart and anyone can make them. The stories will screen as shorts before the Seniors on Screen program and will find an online home on our YouTube channel. This much-loved workshop invariably sells out, so book early.
In collaboration with Carclew Youth Arts, we are running our first music video workshop. Teams will come up with a concept, storyboard, act, film and edit a music video to their chosen song. Editing is crucial part of making music videos, and in this great course students will learn the value of cutting to the beat.
